Done-in-a-Day Projects: Throughout the year, HPARV sponsors special projects that only take a day of your time or just several hours. These "Done-in-a-Day" projects only require a one-time commitment and are perfect for people who can't commit time on an ongoing basis. Some examples of organizations where we've done a volunteer project include: Second Harvest Food Bank, Family Giving Tree and Job Train. The Santa Clara Valley Science & Engineering Fair Association (SCVSEFA) is supported by a number of HPREC volunteers at their annual Science Fair sponsored by Synopsis. Some 800-900 local middle and high school students will be represented at this year's fair. However, during the remainder of the year this group could use your ongoing help in several ways: by being a E-mail mentor to a budding scientist, helping to prepare the Science Project Database, doing ad- ministrative duties, fundraising, making arrangements for judging and awards, etc. While only judging requires technical expertise, being involved with this group will help ensure that students' work is represented and recognized.
